Best Ways to Train Your Pup With PAW-sitive Reinforcement?

Hey Yogi-dog Moms and Dads!

Let’s continue celebrating DOGUST by learning how to best communicate with our canine companions!

Do you feel like you are struggling to reach a happy medium with training your pup? You are definitely not alone…  especially coming out of the pandemic and returning to life as normal, dog paw-rents are admittingly struggling! Training can be very time consuming and frustrating, but once you and your pup make progress together, it will strengthen your bond forever!

Paw-sitive reinforcement-based training allows dog moms and dads to dive deeper into the science of behavior and generate a better result in their canines, not only transforming the behavior of the dogs but also the bonds and relationships between pups and their paw-rents as well!

Where can every day dog parents get started with this life-changing form of training on their own? Here are a few tips to enforce PAW-sitive reinforcement behavior!

1.
Reward and praise your pup
Haven’t you heard that quote, “hounds follow those who feed them”? Well, it's      true! Pups, like humans, feel good when given praise- especially when it comes to a reward of a treat! What better way to treat your pup than with a yummy treat that  ALSO has many health benefits as well? Reward your pup with ANY of the three Yogi-dog flavors for a pooch-pleasing treat that will yield positive results in their behavior as well!

2. Spend time together
Like any human, dogs need to know that you care or else they will feel neglected. Be sure to take a little extra time out of every day to give your pup some extra cuddles or take them on an extra long walk!

 3. Keep up with the training
Most importantly, to make sure your pup is retaining all the training, be consistent! Think of it this way, if you were taught how to do something new, you would want to practice it a couple of times to make sure you’ve got it right, right? Our pups are the same way! Be sure to keep up with training to make sure your pup is retaining their newly learned skills!

Remember to have a paw-some day and to keep checking back for more educational resources!
